Si Badge Attached to New Honda Jazz Variant

Whether you call it the Honda Fit or the Honda Jazz, there's no denying the fact that the five-door hatchback offers up a satisfying combination of enjoyable drive, styling and affordability. But for European consumers, the new Honda model just got even better.

With the addition of a coveted "Si" badge, the Honda Jazz offers consumers a healthy supply of sporty upgrades. Starting with the exterior, engineers equipped the model with a new body kit that features 16-inch wheels and a sleeker paint coat. As for handling, the Jazz Si improves in the areas of agility and response thanks to the addition of a larger front sway bar and electric power steering. Overseas consumers will also note black and silver supportive seats and a sporty leather-trimmed steering wheel inside.

While previous "sport injected" Honda vehicles (i.e. the Honda Civic Si) have experienced bumps in power, the Jazz Si keeps a 98-hp 1.4L four-cylinder engine. Why? As odd as it might seem to us, the automaker is actually catering to the European market. Auto consumers in Europe aren't quite as big on sporty performance as we are. Of course, if Honda ever sticks the Si badge on the Fit, you can be sure engineers would ramp up the drivetrain accordingly.
